i'm ryan. i've been having strange pains for the past 11 months. i was not injured; it came out of the blue. i've always been healthy.
first symptom, deep pain in right arm where shoulder meets chest. i work out with weights and i had to stop doing chest workouts because of it. at this point i also had significant tingling and numbness on the inside of my right hand and forearm.
basic blood testing and chest/arm/neck xray all okay.
deep sore pains in my right side and my right jaw. my right knee begins to "pop" a lot.
first orthopedic doctor looks at xrays from above and diagnosis me with cervical radiculopathy. he says the "holes" in the upper neck are of different sizes and a disc might be bothered. recommends physical therapy.
i go to physical therapy for 1 month and the main thing i do is "traction" on the cervical spine(neck). they put this stretcher on your neck and crank and stretch your spine out. at this point i'm having sharp pains in my feet and tingling in my legs, but these go away after about a month.
physical therapy cures the tingling and numbness in my right hand and forearm. nothing else improves.
experience heavy intense pains in my right groin and right testicle.
pain in right groin and testicle go away with no treatment. ultrasound on right testicle comes up clean. std blood work comes up clean.
slowly develop pain at the base of the throat. feels like choking.
go to second orthopedic doctor. diagnosis me with thoracic outlet syndrome. i go to see a cardio specialist for that and he says i don't have it.
i have a thoracic spine mri. everything's fine there. orthopedic doctor diagnosis me with marfan's syndrome.
have echocardiogram done to check for possible ascending aortic aneurysm(a symptom for marfan's). that comes back fine. although my aortic root is 3.6 cm and the upper range is 3.7.
had heavy chest pains and went to the ER and had a CAT scan of my chest. nothing there. they told me to take 6-8 advil a day. the advil helps a lot with the pains. i hadn't been taking anything up until this point.
see a specialist for marfan's syndrome and he says i don't have it.
my first problem, my right arm, is still messed up. i have pain at the base of my throat and at the same place on my back. my right jaw and side(the oblique area) feel painful and strange all day long.
a couple times throughout the day i'll experience strange crackling sounds in my right chest and my lower back.
i really like to exercise and i can't do it with all these pains.
if i'm sitting around taking advil it's not that bad. as soon as i start moving around(getting food, shower, laundry, anything really) all the above pains come about immediately.
i'm having a cervical spine mri on web the 28th.
any advice? thoughts?
