About 5 years ago I started having swelling in my legs. These are in those stringy things that run horizontal in your inner thigh..not sure if those are called lymph nodes or fat tissue. Certain ones would swell up and hurt. I also have pain if my kids sit on my lap and compress the skin on the outer leg..this causes a severe pain. My family doctor put me off for years until it started getting worse and I asked to see a specialist. First I saw a rheumatolgist (excuse the spelling) and he took lots of blood and tested for all kinds of things. I had ultrasounds on these swollen areas and a bone scan with no results. So they sent me to another doctor who did some pressure point tests...nothing. He did ask if I had been tested for fibromyalgia (which I had not at that point) or so I didn't think so. Then I got sent to a dermatologist who did tell me what they were (and after a year I cannot remember what he said) but said that he did not know why were painful. He sent me away and said if they don't go away in 6 months to come back and he will cut one out. Okay, so that scared me away for almost a year but now they are so bad and seem to be spreading. I have them in my stomach and arms (but not as bad...YET). I also have these small hard ones that run along my lower leg bone and arm bone and they hurt as well. To top it off, my legs act up and burn and ache and pin ****k and hot baths seem to make them worse.
So, I am looking for some help, even to point me in the right direction on what type of doctor to see or what these swollen tissues are. I also have 2 herrington rods in my spine, and bad hips with nightly pain in case they may be associated.
