For the last 3-4 weeks or so I have had very sore nipples. I am not breastfeeding and it is too early for any kind of pregnancy symptoms (I should have my period within a week). Around my nipples it has been red and sore and the tips of my nipples are white. There are small bumps or a rash on the area surrounding the nipples as well. They are painful, especially when I shower. My nipples have had a burning sensation and I have had pain in my breasts. I went to the doctor almost 2 weeks ago. He did a breast exam and said there were no lumps so I shouldn't worry about cancer. He said it is probably some kind of infection and told me to continue using an anti-fungal cream to apply to my breasts. However, the cream hasn't helped. It seemed to help at first, but the last few days it has gotten worse again. I don't know what to do. I have looked all over the internet multiple times and all that I can find is about breast cancer-- specifically Paget´s disease of the breast. Help! I am scared it is cancer-- I'm uninsured and in a foreign country, but I went to an American doctor- he is no longer in the country. I don't know what to do.

  • If you have been having unprotected sex.. i'd suggest a pregnancy test (maybe wait a week first seeing your period is due within the week). One can still get a period when first pregnant so you could be pregnant. With one of my daughters i wasnt aware i was pregnant until i was 12 weeks gone. Nipple and breast soreness was my very first pregnancy sign and can happen VERY early.. it was that which alerted me to the fact i was pregnant.

  • I would get a good mammogram; do some research to find a good women's clinic--...it could also be a virus of some type...
