Im a 22 year old female- I have been having tingling in my legs, feet, hands, arms, and face, and some numbness in my fingers once. Freezing sensations on my head and legs. some eye twitching and muscle twitching in any given part of my body that comes and goes. Some times my muscles pinch so much that it hurts. My eye twitching gets worse when I take a hot shower, and also my hands start shaking. I have no reflexes in my feet or my arms, but no one seems to know what is wrong with me. I have been tested for a b12 deficiency, lymes disease, hypoglycemia, and I had an MRI all of which were negative.
I went to a naturopath, who seems to think I have an allergy to plastic??? I don't know what to believe- does anyone have any advice?

You have been tested but that test is almost meaningless since people can have responsive symptoms well above the top end of the range. Also such a test is completely ineffective if the deficiency is in the cerebral spinal fluid. The only conclusive test is a trial of the right types (2 active kinds) of the right brands done with an effective technique. Your likelihood of stunbling on all the correct effecftive choices is less than 1 in a thousand. Also sensitivity to all sorts of things including plastics can also be a b12 deficiency symptom. http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?p=169920&posted=1#post169920Come on over to the b12 deficiency forum and find out how to test yourself effectively to see if either or both b12s or one of the critical cofactors can make a difference.

  • Your symptoms would certainly be inconsistent with an allergic response. My suggestion at this point is to obtain a referral to a neurologist and have diagnostic labs performed, particularly ANA, as well as an MRI with contrast. Also, depending upon the nature of the fasciculations, or muscle twitching, an EMG might be warranted. Best regards, J Cottle, MD

  • I already had an MRI with contrast and my neurologist said that it was so perfect it looked like it belonged in a textbook- he has no intention of doing any other tests, he told me that whatever it is will probably just go away. I will have to look up what a ANA and a ENG is...Thank you!
