Can anyone help or advise please?
i was diagnosed with Nesidio blastosis as a child, had 95% of my pancreas removed, alongside this i was also diagnosed with Poly-cystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
I am now 33, and have been insulin dependant for 20 years, last year my Kidneys failed, and am currently Haemo-dialysing.
I have been put on the dual transplant list (pancreas and kidney). I hve never been told if Nesidio Blastosis is a Genetic fault, or if it is simply a defective organ. I am worried that when i get the donor organ that if it is a genetic problem i am going to face more complications. Is there anyone out there who knows if this problem is genetic, and should i be asking my transplant team about this also?
Many thanks for any help.
