I have been too my GP, and Neurologist and have had an MRI which basically came up negative except for a Schmorls nodule at L3,L4. My neurologist just states its sciatica due to a nerve compression, but the imaging shows none, and it has been getting progressively worse. It hurts to sit, with sweating and tingling throughout my buttocks down to my toes. Lying in prone does not help, but flexion and lying on my back helps a bit.
The weird part is the pain started in my butt and penis, I thought I might of had an STD or UTI, or Fungal infection on my penis. All tests came up negative except for the fungal infection which will not go away, and the pain seems to agrivate throughout my legs and low back with pain in my penis.

I have tried PT, and Tramadol, and other NSAIDS all with little help with the pain.
I cant get rid of the small ring like fungi on my penis and the pain either.
Please help!
Is any of this related?

Two things: antifungal herbs to try: tea tree oil, aloe vera (Herbal Aloe Force Skin gel is brilliant if you can find this), even try plain yogurt topically. Do you have any urination problems? How are your bowel movements? Second, PLEASE get acupuncture for the sciatica. If you can find a practitioner who is also a certified Herbalist, then they can treat both of your problems very effectively. Acupuncture is fantastic for sciatica - the only effective treatment IME for this problem. The sciatic nerve lies deep in the gluteals and is hard to reach by PT or chiropractic or massage. Acupuncture works!!! Cannot recommend this highly enough! Western antifungal meds are not always very effective. Try the herbal treatments above, and try acupuncture. A classic herbal formula to treat genital itching/fungus is called Lon Dan Xie Gan Wan. A qualified herbalist can diagnose and prescribe this formula or a similar one. Best wishesDOM

  • Have you asked your physician about the potential for herpes? This is the same virus that causes painful burning cold sores, herpes outbreaks around the chest and waist, painful chicken pox and genital herpes. It often hides in the nerves and presents without the classic blisters or sores. Some doctors are reluctant to even consider this potential unless there are blisters. See someone else if that is the case. There are a couple of good medications for this disorder that bring fairly quick relief if that's what it is. There would be little to no harm in trying them, assuming your doctor would agree to give you a trial prescription. Be sure the dose is strong enough. It comes in more than one dose.
