hey i have had a heap of long term neuro problems ,,muscle spasms / cramps / weakness ,,from head to toe ..a bunch of other annoying stuff. To cut a long story short ,,ive been told i have "multiple infections" basically. rickettsia being one ,,which seems to be perhaps dissapating on its own , thank god.. but there is some level in my blood that indicates there is still a high rate of infection. Mycoplasma being the offender. My specialist prescribed me clindamycin to help in ridding of this infection,, ive read some nasty stuff about it ...anyone in here have a take on this clindamycin ?

  • Medications have side effects. Clindamycin seems to have more than most...see the boards. Ask doc if you can take another antibiotic. What I've read said "if untreated, will go away on it's own". Ask your doc.

  • Clindamycin is a potent antibiotic, and it is used to treat only serious infections because it can cause severe colitis which may end fatally.

  • It Wont Go Away When U Have An Immune System That Is "compromised"SeeYes, I agree.Homeslice, you need to take some NAET treatments to strengthen your immune response- also visit an herbalist/DOM/Naturo and visit a Jaffe Mellor Technician or a really good Chiro. There are two theories on treating infection:1. help the patient get strong so his own body rid itself from the infection2. kill the infection and (perhaps) harm the patient while doing so.Mycoplasma is not a joke so I bet you can use extra support- but I don't think your body is ready to take that medication.Combined treatment:Try NAET and herbs- NAET can help you avoid side effects, you can get treated for the drug (clindamycin) before you take it- so it kills the bugs, w/o hurting you as much.Best,Mar.

  • I would like to discuss treatment with the member named 'homeslice' concerning her problems with CFS, mycoplasma bacteria and clindamyacin. I realize this is an old thread, but if you would contact me at kanga1427@gmail.com I would like to talk about treatments for mycoplasma with clindamycin and doxycycline. I have been on antibiotic therapy for the past 4 years...1st with doxycycline and now it has been replaced with clindamycin. I hope that you are having a good result with your treatment. I am a big believer in antibiotic therapy and have tried the whole gamut of treatments offered for my auto-immune disease, with is Adult onset Still's Disease, FM, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. Everything except the antibiotic therapy caused far more serious health problems for me that have become permanent and now limit what I am able to take for anything due to serious allergic reactions. The other reason that I would like to contact you is that most people are against or don't believe in antibiotic therapy, but I do and would have given anything to have found a doctor when I first became ill 12 years ago. Clindamycin may be a serious antibiotic with side-effects, but so is mycoplasma as it is very difficult to get rid of. Doctors thought nothing of the high doses of prednisone, and chemo-therapy that has caused avascular necrosis in my hip joints, and the now chronic Stevens-Johnson Syndrome problems. I hope that you have stuck with the antibiotic therapy. All my best to you. Sincerely, Kanga
