  • Hi LydiaMegan. All women have some amount of discharge. What's 'normal' for one woman may not be 'normal' for another when it comes to the amount and consistency of the discharge. Have you been to a gynecologist yet? He/she should be able to put your fears to rest, and if you have not been yet, it's time. Are you sexually active? Your discharge seems very normal to me, but if you are active and this is new, you should get it checked out to be safe. Also, a common yeast infection can cause the discharge to become more cottage-cheese like and maybe smell a little. Again, a doc can rule this in or out. As you are 14, you still have many changes ahead of you with your body. What you are posting about seems normal to me.....you are going to have to get to know your body well so that when all these changes happen, it won't surprise you. Seeing a gynecologist can answer many, many questions if you don't feel comfortable talking to your parents about all this. Best to you! :D

  • I had the exact same thing when I was 12. I still have it to this day at 30. I have to wear pantyliners every day. My ob/gyn told my mom and I both that it was perfectly normal. Its a bit annoying because I always have to have pantyliners. The only time you have to be concerned is if it any color other than clear..and has an odor. This may be a yeast infection or even vaginosis. Both are treatable! good luck! and don't feel like a freak as i did..As I got older I learned that a lot of women go through it. :)

  • Sometimes too much vaginal discharge can be caused by eating too much sugar and/or dairy products. You may want to check your diet and cut out these foods and see if this changes for you. Best wishesDOM
