Hi i'a a 33yr old male that has extensive issues comeup in the last year now. I originally was taken into the E.D. via ambulance as I fell down and had 6hours of paralysis on my left side. bloodwork came back okay heart monitor was reading good but, no sensation anywhere on that side. Dropping of the left side of jaw occured however, no blockage indidcated through carotid ultrasound. Refused a spinal tap and was sent home. Note that since this episode I have experienced the following in transient stages not consistant, memory loss, slurred speech, dislekic type traits, major leg pains, facial tremors also fluttering in the chest. Does anyone have any ideas ?

I have had a carotid ultrasound, bloodwork 100 times over, did find a vitamin D deficiency, nerve conduction study came back ok, head scan MRI (blue dye), xray of legs, eeg came back good, sleep study come back okay. Any Ideas ??????

  • Would you mind providing me with some medical history, ie pre-existing conditions or medications, and more importantly whether you were either recovering from, or actively suffering from an upper respiratory illness of any type when the incident occurred? Mycoplasmic infections, typically that result in pneumonia, have been rarely known to cause hemiparalysis and subsequent neurological sequelae. M pneumonae detection on lab analysis can sometime be delayed for many days. I can offer you more direction once we have a little more history to support an opinion. Best regards, J Cottle, MD
