I was involved in a head on collision in November of 2006. I have bulging disks at c5-c6, c6-c7 with moderate foraminal stenosis and significant degenerative disc disease. Focal central herniated disc at c5-c6.
My symptoms are as follows:
neck pain (tightness, heavyness, burning, sharp pains, tightness of muscles)
arm pain (heavy, throbbing pain from elbow down to my hand, burning, very sensitive to touch, weakness, pain when holding arm above shoulder level)
hand: numbness, burning pains, warm and sweaty at times, goes completely numb and swells when I try walking or exercising and starts to tingle & burn
shoulder & right brachial plexis region: very tight, burning, tightness of muscles, "knots" in shoulder blade, etc.)
I don't ever have a day that I don't hurt, but the levels of pain do vary. I have noticed when I am sad or depressed my pain magnifies. When I exercise, do physical stuff, carry my purse on my right side - it increases. I have been through a year of physical therapy, and tons of different prescriptions. The doctor has just said to go to pain management but that doesn't give me anything but more meds to alter who I am. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
