Hey, I am someone who doesn't have health insurance so going to the doctor would be really expensive for me, so I am trying to find any clues to what I have.
2 weeks ago, my left lymph node gotten swollen, less than 1 cm, and no pains or sore throat.
I took allergy pills and it didn't even help the slightest, I also tried vitamin C because I read that it might be trying to fight an infection but it hasn't gotten any better either.
Sometimes it was so bad that I wouldn't be able to eat, not even drink.
But tonight, it gotten worse, it hurt to swallow and it was hurting a bit, today I wake up with both left and right side swollen, the left more than the other, both hurting with touch or drinking/eating, I feel alot of pressure on my throat like something is grasping it.
It's still less than 1 cm, but I still don't know what it is, can anyone help me or do I really need to check up on the doctor?

  • I don't really use cellphones that often, except for messaging, and even that has been very rare lately. But that is still scary, my grandpa had brain cancer and my uncle had lung cancer. The weird thing is that, it only TODAY started to get painful.

  • Typically lymph nodes swell when your body is trying to fight off an infection. You probably have a case of the flu or another common infection. In two months if you still aren't feeling better or if the nodules have gotten noticeably larger then you should see a doctor to check for Mononucleosis. In the mean time take it easy, drink lots of liquid, and see if there's a free clinic where you can get a prescription for some antibiotics.

  • Ok, right now I have no sore throat. But the middle of my neck and the lymph nodes are hurting like needles and the lymph nodes are still swollen.I am taking some antibiotics but they aren't helping, it's all still the same.I am drinking lots of water but it doesn't really seem to help.I can't sleep and now I feel sick to my stomach and I have been burping air alot more then often.Edit: I also drank alot of orange juice, and took alot of vitamin C thinking it was an infection from a cold or something.I also took nyquil, pretty much allergy and cold/flu medicine isn't working and it seems to be getting worse by the day.
