Neck Pain

I am getting very angry and losing my patience with doctors and nurse practitioners that have seen me.

About a year ago today, I developed some Spastic Torticolis. My primary care doctor gave me some muscle relaxants and some pain relievers. My neck and was shifted all around, my left shoulder was pushed down. After about 24 hours of rest, medicine and heat I was back to normal.

Well, ever since then I noticed I had some neck pain. During this time I started a desk job so I thought maybe it was from that. I have very good posture and my job is walking around a lot additionally.

However, as of about 5 months ago this pain is starting to affect my life. The pain is unbearable at times and is not relieved by heat/cold, or Tylenol or anything. My doctor is telling me to see a chiropractor but that is not helping. I'm wanting an X-Ray but no one thinks it's nessecary!

By the way, my torticolis: I just woke up with it one day. No mechanism of injury.

Anyhow, any help would be appreciated.

  • It sounds like spasmodic torticollis. It can be treated with Botex injections. See a neurologist. I had surgery for it through the Mayo Clinic
