Mystery Infection attacking the muscles

My sister is in the hospital with some sort of mystery illness.
Her symptoms are:
Muscle weakness & spasms in the legs, arms, and chest.
High white cell count.
Loss of appetite.
Pain in legs/arms
Pain when she breathes in in her chest & stomach
Leg tremors.
Sore muscles in throat.

No control of leg muscles.

She had been in the hospital 3 mos ago. She didn't have the trouble with her muscles last time but she did have lesions/ulcers (puss filled bumps) in her mouth/throat with tongue swelling.

She was treated with antivirals & antibiotics and sent home without a diagnosis.

She has been checked for abcess (CAT Scan of throat & head) Given a MRI of everything above her waist, they did a spinal tap, echo cardio, chest x-ray, tons of blood work & so far the test results they've gotten back reveal nothing.

They feel it may be a relapse but all they call it is a virus.

They almost sent her home yesterday but she spiked a fever and they kept her to give her IV & test her heart.

Has anyone EVER been through anything close to this??? Any ideas??? Sorry for such a long post but I'm desperate!!!
