My girlfriend has been suffering from chronic polyp disease for 3 years. She has had 4 sinus surgeries in the last year and a half, polyps continue to grow back. She has severe allergies and has developed allergy induced asthma. She has had recent blood work which shows elevated IgE levels and some other slightly off things. She has participated in several research studies. Nothing has helped.
She has frequent attacks where her joints swell, she cant breathe and is accompanied by severe allergy like symptoms. They leave her body sore and drained for days. We have visited dozen of doctors, all of which have told her they dont know what is wrong. The most recent has told her they cant help her with polyp disease and the next step is to remove her sinuses.
They think and feel that there is something wrong with her but no one can help. It is 2AM we are up because she woke up chocking on her PND and having a severe allergy attack. I believe it is some type of autoimmune disease and not allergies but Im not a doctor.
We spend hours every day searching the net, trying to figure out what it can be and how I can help.
She has not been able to work for over a year due to the severity of her illness.
She has told me she can no longer go on like this, I don't know what we should do. Does anyone have any clues as to what it can be?
