Almost two years ago I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Now, all of my thyroid levels are under control. When the symptoms from that went away, I started getting a lot of other symptoms with no explanation. I have 5 doctors; a primary, rheumatologist, endocrinologist, gasteroenterologist, and allergist, and none of them can find what I have. I have had a lower GI, upper GI, MRI of my brain, EKG of my heart, Nuclear medicine Meckle's scan, two asophograms, two ultasounds, and many other tests and they have all came back negetive.

shortness of breath without physical activity
chronic fatigue
weakness, allover but bad in legs
abdominal pain
vision going black when standing up normally
dizziness when standing normally
joint pain, mostly hips and knees
fast pulse without activity

There's my story. Anyone have any ideas??

  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis can occur with other autoimmune or endocrine disorders .. it can occur with CFIDS. (also called CFS... be aware that different countries use different definations for CFS.. some countries have CFS patients which are more of a psychological base where in other countries the defination of it gravitates more towards a group which has immune, endocrine and immunological issues). Your symptoms may be CFIDS http://wwcoco.com/cfids/bernesx.html i dont want to scare you but i do want to warn you as you are showing symptoms of CFIDS/CFS and in the subgroup of ones who have CFS and Hashimoto's there is an abnormally high rate of thyroid malignancy. i was looking online for a link to a CFS specialist who found that many of his patients with thyriod issues (it was Hashimoto's) on testing had cancer (the statistic may of been one in every 16 or 18 was found to have cancer). i couldnt find the article i was looking for to put here but i found another http://www.alasbimnjournal.cl/alasbimn/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=136&Itemid=94 take care..

  • If you are wanting to know more this connection, you may be able to find others with Hashimoto's thyroiditis if you post at the somewhere like the phoenix rising CFS forums off hand i dont know who there also has Hashimoto's but there is bound to be others there thou it isnt commonly with CFS, as i said there is a connection and it does happen at times. Ive come across ones who have both Hashimoto's and CFS on some of the smaller CFS forums http://www.forums.aboutmecfs.org/forum.php
