Im a 20 year old female, and over the past few months I have noticed quite a bit of bruising. I noticed it at first only on my legs. (shins, and thighs. )But I have also noticed bruising on my forearms too. I never used to bruise, barely at all. I played soccer and rugby for years and never bruised. Also a few weeks ago I ran into something at work and hit my thigh, normally that wouldn't cause any kind of bruise, maybe a scratch and slight bruise if anything. Within a minute or so I checked my leg and I had a bruise about the size of an orange, and it was a very deep dark purple/blue. I have asked my doctor about this random bruising and had some labwork done. My CBC came back normal and my hemoglobin levels are normal. The bruises are generally about the size of a thumbprint, but range, some smaller some larger. Also, I have checked the medications I am taking and none are said to cause bruising. I also rarely ever take aspirin. If anyone has any sort of information, that would be wonderful. :]

  • What medications are you taking, and what are you taking them for?

  • What medications are you taking, and what are you taking them for?I have suffered similar bruising for several years, though otherwise, in good health. I have had lots of tests and all were ok, until I was told I had RA, and it is an immune problem. The bruises do not hurt, but don't look nice. Perhaps worth checking. I have found fish oil supplements make the bruising worse and that eating pinneapple lessens the bruises. Hope this helps, and good luck.
