My wife has had persistent swelling (about 40 lbs of water weight) and low-grade fevers every day for about a year. Doctors have run about 100 blood / urine tests looking for a root cause, but no luck to this point in finding any out of balance proteins, diseases, etc. that may be causing this.

Any suggestions on who to talk with about this or what conditions we may want to check into further?

  • I'm sorry to hear that your wife is sick, I know how frustrating this is. Have you checked into Lyme Disease, or Hodgkin's Disease? I hope that she finds a diagnosis soon.Bless you!

  • Sometimes getting a good diagnosis is exactly what one needs to get to a cure. Sometimes finding a diagnosis is impossible. But getting a cure doesn't always require a diagnosis. Standard Western medicine needs a diagnosis. Chinese, NAET, other alternative medicine systems work on getting the body to take care of the problems like it is supposed to.I heartily suggest that as you continue looking for a diagnosis, that you also see about working with someone who does acupuncture, NAET, herbs, magnets, whatever you can afford. It cannot hurt, and sometimes it is the only thing that helps.Meanwhile, if you really want help finding a diagnosis from this site, you would need to put a lot more info. Starting with a list of all the tests, and the exact results. Sometimes doctors assume that something that is "within the normal range" means it is all fine. But for some people, having a pattern of things that are high or low (but still "in range") can point to what is going on.Finally, get extensive allergy testing done. An ELISA ACT test would be a good place to start.Best,Shula
