my son has been in the hospital for 6 days for headaches & dizzyness. After MRI, CT & xrays they have found a deep sinus infection. But the doctors are not agreeing and the dizzyness is not going away. Blood work came back with platlets & wbc low and kidney & liver high. any suggestions?

  • A friend of mine had the same thing happen to her..It's still happening. They diagnosed her with Thrombocytopedia (low blood platelets hers were in the teens when we got her to the hospital) They did every test in the world on her. They tested her for HIV, AIDS, Leukemia, lyme disease, thryoid disease, ect. ect. but Thrombocytompedia is only a secondary problem, they still haven't found the primary site or even what it is. All they ended up doing is referring her to an oncologist and they don't even know what's wrong! Because there is so much going on with his blood work I would think it's just that...something in the blood. A Hemotologist and I mean a good one could help with that or it could be auto-immune system related so a good Endocrinologist would be good right now too. Don't go with their first diagnosis. If there's one thing I've learned it's if they can't find a "for sure" to what's wrong with him, they will just say it's something else, patch him and send you home. The very first thing they should have done is an MRI on his head. They need to check his BLOOD and do a "Cancer marker test". It's easy and all they need is his blood. They should also do a test for "inflamation" and it's also very easy just requires blood. Those two test will give them a lot more info than they have right now. And a bone marrow biopsy will prob. be nessesary too. Does he have any lymph nodes that are enlarged? How old is he? Has he been sick recently or did this all just happen?? What lead up to this? I hope you get answers soon and you are welcome to email me if you need anything and I'll be more than happy to research with you. Please atleast let me know what the docs end up finding out.ThanksCathycathyaycock1980@yahoo.com
