The first rash I got was on my eye... that has been about a month or a bit over. It is not going away and it occasionally still itches.
The very severe ones are the tops of my feet. My hands have rashes too but more of that is turning into brown spots- except the one lump on the left hand(Doctor states this is part of the healing process). I developed two new hives on my body this morning. My knee and elbows, which i couldn't get a good pic of, also had the rash with some hot burning in the joints. Now, my knee just looks like it has poor circulation. That pic shows good circulation on my feet on a very good day. There are times when my left foot actually looks purple. I think that even in this pic though that the right foot looks like it gets better circulation than the left.

Keep in mind- my Doc states Serum Sickness but the last time I took the medicine was 06/08. I had gotten sick starting that Friday before.

The eye rash is the one that concerns me most because it's on my face and it has been there at least for a month.
So- what do you think besides my feet look rough and I look jacked up (I am not making myself look cute for internet..sorry :p)

Still tired, have neuropathy, and wierd feeling in the muscles. Joints feel wierd too and they hurt on and off. Shoulder is my new joint that has been irking me.

????? Anyone had these before?????

  • You might want to post your symptoms/story on Lymenet - perhaps post this link so that people there can see the pictures. I get similar rashes, and I have chronic Lyme and multiple bug-borne coinfections (I got mine from fleas and mosquitos, not ticks). The tests for these infections stink, which is why I recommend joining Lymenet. Only certain doctors and labs have the knowledge to diagnose and treat this within the ongoing Lyme controversy. Any other symptoms? I would get this mottled rashy appearance from my knees downward and even bluish gums. Lyme can attack the blood vessels and even the heart, leading to reduced blood flow to whichever areas are constricted. I have had many other different kinds of rashes - eczema, psoriasis, petechiae... You would need to see a Lyme specialist though and get tested for Lyme, bartonella, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, babesia, mycoplasma, ehrlichia, rickettsia, etc... Lymenet can help you find a doctor. Click on "symptoms": http://www.canlyme.com/ Lyme Disease: The Unknown Epidemic http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2001/07/25/lyme-disease-part-two.aspx Lymenet: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php I would also give serious consideration to the possibility of electrosensitivities (ES) - essentially an allergy to EMF/RF exposure in light of the proliferation of wireless technology in recent years. Do you use a cell phone, cordless phone, wireless internet? Rashes are quite common. I actually have both Lyme and ES, and I think they overlap and work together. http://www.ei-resource.org/illness-information/related-conditions/electrical-sensitivity-&-hypersensitivity/ http://www.feb.se/ARTICLES/OlleJ.html Blaze, You think EVERYONE has lymes disease. That being said, I have thought about this as a possibility but the probability is that it is an autoimmune issue. Not only does autoimmune diseases run in my family, but even if I have serum sickness- that IS an autoimmune response that is not typical of a normal allergic reaction. In addition, I have severe allergies. I have had allergy shots.. twice. Once as a kid and once as an adult. I also have asthma (reactive airways) too. I also had pre-diabetes but resolved it with weight lose. IF that doesn't scream auto-immune I don't know what does. My concern is this: 1.I obtained the first rash within a few days of taking the augmentin.. this was on my eyelid(you'll see it on the pic). It has never gone away and if IT WAS from the meds than it should be gone. 2.The tingling in the hands, feet, and mouth disturb me. If this was the only time this happened I would be inclined to let it go, but it isn't. A year ago I was sick and I got the same symptoms. This time was worse causing very temporary paralysis. Why is this manifesting when I am sick? 3.I had an ephiany last night and realized that I have been falling a whole lot in the last two years. I have fallen not only going up my stairs, but going down them. I have fallen outside and skinned my knees and hands. I have stumbled stepping up to my front door to the point where I have had the closed door break my fall. I fell at work a few weeks before all this mess happened too. I am only 31 and I not only played sports-I TOOK BALLET. What is going on with my balance or gait? 4.If this is a residual effect from the augmentin, than why am I developing non-itchy hives? At first I had my boyfriend look at them and he thought they were bug bites- but what bug bite does itch? I don't want to sound like a worrier but I also don't want to be up the creek in a few years over something that I could catch early and treat.

  • Hi deedee, i might be way of base here & i know u have had another thread going about this so i dont know all that has been already suggested. Having looked at ur pics it has remined me of something. A couple of years back i helped someone that wasn't coping well with house keeping & cleanleness, i went in & stripped their bedding & scrubbed their matterss, washed everything......very quickly i started to feel itchy & by next morning i had broke out in a rash that looked like urs, my arms where the worst & as i had done all this cleaning in a t shirt my arms where bare & the bedding sheets had direct contact with my skin, i went to my docs & she didnt know the cause, she thought it wasn't scabies because scabies start in between fingers seemingly.....anyway i left her none the wiser, went to the chemist & bought Derbac M, although i could see nothing other than the rash i felt as if my skin was crawling. I covered myself in the lotion, stripped my bedding as i had slept in it that night, washed everthing i was in contact with. The itching stopped & the rash cleared, i have no idea what caused it but whatever it was i killed it.It makes me cringe to think of it & if i was ever to help like this again id make sure i was protected against this as much as possible. I really dont know if this is relevant to u but maybe worth a try, it looks similar & please dont be offended by me saying this, i came into contact with something & i like everything clean, all im saying its maybe possible u came into contact with something without realising it. Its just a thought. Best wishes :)

In fact, despite me being ill for weeks he is yelling at me right now for not keeping the house perfect as he would like it. Besides, the eye rash covers a large area that isn't consistent with a bite and the doctor have never thought that as an option. Maybe you were having an allergic reaction yourself as opposed to a infestation.
