Can anyone help?
my father went into hospital last week, after thinking he had a TIA on holiday, Since then we have been told it wasnt a stroke but unsure exactly what is wrong, (he has been in hospital since last wednesday)

He is asleep all the time, itching all over his body, confused, really depressed and a loss of appetite (he is having his food purred). When he does eat his food wont go down, (he had problems a few weeks ago, whereby when he ate, he was suffering unbearable pains is his back.)

The hospital have done a brain scan and found nothing, there hoping to conduct a full body scan but this keeps been delayed.

He is on warfarin and his blood is very thin as he had a bypass a few years ago.

I am really concerned that no one seems to know what could be wrong with him and he just seems to be heading on a downward spirral.

any suggestions or help would be really appreciated

many thanks!!

  • Abdominal aorta for the back pain is my idea. how long has he been on warfarin? Could it be a reaction to the warfarin? Have they check his PT?

  • Thanks very much for your messages, im afraid he has got a lot worse since i last messaged, he was having problems swallowing and was put on a constant drip after been uable to eat, he just sleeps all day and doesnt really know where he is (confused)a week or so ago after various other tests, a camera was inserted down his throat, we have found out from these tests that he actually has cancer of the esophagus , we were informed of this monday. We are not waiting upon the canvcer specialists who are due to meet this monday, we will know how bad it is then and if its operable, I really hope so, but reading up on this type of cancer, im not too sure. Thanks for everyones suggestions, just a waiting game now.
