Good evening,
My father has "not been feeling right" for over a year now. His symptoms have gotten progressively worse over the past 6 months. It first started as GI symptoms.....when he eats he experiences cramping (upper abdominal), feeling bloated, feeling of fullness when he didn't even eat, as result his appetite has decreased...and he has some weight loss. He saw a GI doc, blood tests showed elevated LFTs (value 333).....colonoscopy and upper endo results were normal, hep and liver tests were negative, Ct scan of pelvis/abdomen were normal...........the plot thickens........during this time he was seeing his GI doc.....he had a dry non-productive cough...his GI doc then sent him for a chest xray...chest xray is deemed abnormal, CT chest is ordered...spots are seen....he is sent to pulmonologist...who says he has never seen so many spots before and has NO idea what they are...........bronchoscopy w/ lung biopsy is done...various samples are taken...all coming back negative for tuberculosis, fungal infection, ...no emphezema (pls excuse the spelling), doc says besides the spots...his lungs look great! Ok...so 5 days later after the bronchoscopy..my dad eats has SEVERED abd pain, stomach very tender/painful to touch....vomits a fews times over the course of 3 days...coughs up a little blood (which could be from procedure)almost goes to the ER but doesn't...had he called me I would have taken him....Monday comes along his chest is "sore", pain in his upper abd area, every time he eats he has pain, when he doesn't eat...he's fine...he ate a banana and granola bar and had very bad pain.....BTW negative for Celiac's disease..................that was Monday it is now Thurs.....the pulm doc is sending him to a thoracic surgeon for another lung biopsy,,,meanwhile my dad is loosing weight, eatting minimally just to survive...what is going on!!!!! Recommendations please........53 year old male..oil truck driver........any help or suggestions.....we're truly at a lose to mention depressed and frustrated over waiting for doctors to get back to us.............tx, Christa - a concerned daughter
