I've been having this pain in my eye for about 3 days, and on the 3rd day I woke up and my eye was swollen. It kind of itches and the pain increases when I blink or close it completely. But oddly enough, the pain seems to be coming from the lower half of my eye. But the top lid is the only thing thats swollen. I wear glasses, but I've never had this problem with my eye before. Can you give me a diagnosis? And maybe something that I can buy over the counter to help the pain and swelling.

  • I thought i had a stye in your eye. I actually saw a doctor regarding this right away because the pictures of a stye that gets worse looked horrible. http://www.ucomparehealthcare.com/hospital/new_york/manhattan_eye_ear_and_throat_hospital.html Turned out I had a scratched cornea and it was painful as all heck but finally healed. Eye drop lubricant helped a lot.

  • If it's crusty at all, it's just an infection. Be nice to it and wait it out if you don't wanna pay for a doc visit and perscription drops.

  • Hello. I know you’re really scared right now for your eye, but my advice is to see an eye doctor as soon as possible. Your eye condition could get worse when you apply non-prescribed medication, so don’t risk it. Go see an eye doctor now. Good luck and hope it’s nothing too serious!
