A couple of weeks ago I traveled to Hawaii, shortly after we got there my left calf felt REALLY sore and there was a lump inside. When we returned home the pain was still there so I called the doctor for an appointment. Worried that it was a blood clot, she advised me to go to the emergency room right away.
An ultrasound in the ER determined that the lump was not a blood clot but the ER doctors wanted me to go back to my doctor for another ultrasound to be sure.
At the second ultra sound the tech said she could see what she described as 'some sort of mass' but she didn't know what it is. She went to speak with her boss and came out to tell me that they would forward the information on to my doctor and she would probably schedule an MRI to check out the lump.
That was on Friday, my doctor has not called me since. My leg is still in pain, it's more of a dull achy pain, not a horrible throbbing pain. The lump is still there, it is hard and oblong (not round) and feels like it is connected to something like a muscle. I've called the doctor office several times but they only tell me they are waiting on the ultrasound photos to be sent up.
Any ideas about what this is?
