Since I was a teenager, I've had this annoying lower right flank pain (occasionally). I always thought they were kidney or UTI infections until last year. I went to the doctor, at my worst (I was bent over from the pain). The doctors office took a urine test and it came back with 20,000 cultures, which they told me means there aren't enough cultures for it to be considered a an infection. They gave me antibiotics before the tests came back, which I didn't notice them making much of a difference. They also pushed around the appendix area to see if that was the issue, but I felt no pain there. The strange thing is, I've taken an excedrin before and had it stop the pain (after having the pain for over a week). Sometimes I'll feel this pain and it won't get any worse than a dull ache. Other times it will progressively get worse until I'm bent over in pain. What is this pain? Should I worry? I get no other symptoms really. No fever or vomitting. I also have IBS-D if that has anything to do with it, and take Immodium frequently. If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.
