  • My advice to you is to get a second opinion. Keep pushing and pushing and pushing, even if the doctor makes you feel like a freak.Trust me, I have been feeling bad for 1 1/2 years now, extreme fatigue, kidney problems, etc. I was finally told by my doctor that he had felt he did all the tests he could do and that it was all in my head. I cried hysterically and told him something was wrong, that I knew my body and I insisted something was wrong. His solution, either antidepressants or psychitrist... I left and was embarrassed, thinking I had gone mad. That was last February... By the grace of God, I was able to swith doctors and now the new doctor's diagnosis is Thyroid masses. I will find out tomorrow if it is cancerous or not.PLEASE PLEASE listen to your own body... I wish I would have never second guessed mine..Good luck and God bless you!Cathy

  • Thyroid masses...I assume you had some kind of imaging test that clued the new doctor in. It's really sad to hear this, because you clearly had a problem and your first doctor was totally useless in diagnosing it. It would be one thing if this new doctor also had no diagnosis, but he found something. If he found something then there was no reason your first doctor couldn't also find it if she or he took the time.

  • You are not crazy! You definately have a family pattern of kidney issues and if your doc dismisses this plus the 5 infections a year (WAY too many) then he is not compitent in my opinion. You definately need a second opinion and take a family member with you who has kidney problems too if that is a possibility.Good Luck and God Speed
