Hi there everyone. I was wondering if you could help me. My boyfriend currently has a yellow tongue. His other symptoms are a sore, swollen throat which hurts when swallowing. The back of his nose seems to be infected with mucus, but he is currently not coughing anything up.

He has had it, intermitently, for about four weeks and it won't go away. It's not possible for us to go to the doctor's at the moment as we're living away from home, and he probably wouldn't go anyway.

I am very worried about him so if anyone has any ideas as to what it might be and also, if there's anything we can do to cure it then please let me know. I realise it's probably something very simple but I'd still appreciate any help. Thanks!

  • Thanks for your help! Hopefully it will clear up. He already uses Listerine but I'll tell him to do it more often.

  • Thanks for your help. The infection seems to have cleared up somewhat now. He is still coughing up a bit but most of it has gone.
