I have an 8 month (almost 9) old son. At 2 months I was concerned with the fact that my son always kept hist fists clinched and had "weird" posturing with his arms - totally extended behind his back palms up. I brought it up at his 2 month well baby check up and the Dr. said he would be concerned if he is still doing it at his 4 month check up.. Sure enough at four months he was still doing it - Dr. made a PT referral I asked about a neurologist and was told that I was over reacting as a first time mom. My son has been receiving PT once a week since the referral. He no longer fists his hands or postures his arms. He has arm weakness with his gross motor skill but not fine motor. Fast forward to Dec. 15 - he began cocking his head to the right and extending his right arm - episodes last 2-3 seconds but come in clusters of as many as 20+. We called his ped and was told to take him to the ER (we were out of town) a CT was done and it came back normal. We were referred to a neurologist and an eeg was done - it showed some spiking in the left frontal lobe - indicating minor seizures. An MRI was done and it came back normal - but he had possible mastoiditis unrelated to the seizures. We are going next Wednesday for another eeg -------- this has been going on a while and I am sick with worry. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for reading.
