I was in a car wreck on June 29th of this year and when I went to hospital the orthopedist did not even check what was wrong with my leg. I've been on crutches since the accident until 4 days ago when I had a physical and the doctor told me to stop using my crutches (I had a huge hematoma in my calf).
My hip has looked swollen since the accident, but I thought maybe it was just inflammation but it has not changed. It hurts when I press on it, but there is a numb spot near the center of where it hurts. I can't feel my skin in this area and sometimes when I walk too much and stress the muscles I feel a burning sensation and it hurts pretty bad like my muscle is on fire.
I worry that I have a detached muscle or maybe my soft tissue was shunted downward out of place when I was thrown against my seat belt and is pressing on a nerve maybe? Does anyone know what this is and what is wrong? It's noticeable that I have a swollen hip/thigh on the outside of my leg and right after the accident I could not lift my leg at all. I don't understand why my skin would be numb so it makes me think nerves are involved.
Please help if anyone knows what might be going on with me! The doctors just shrug and blow it off as inflammation and I seriously doubt it would still be that almost 2 months after the accident.
Thank you!! :o
