I also have this problem and it can be so severe that I am howling in pain, can not stand up straight and have to pace the floors all night long becuase walking is the only thing that helps. I also get the twitching that people are talking about which is usually how it starts. The cramps begin in my toes, then move up my leg into the calf and all the way up to the buttox, and it can occurr in both legs. I actually had these symptoms show up in one of my hands too. I've heard calcium, magneseum, potassium, and vitamin D deficiencies can cause this. I take all and it has not stopped this from occurring.
