Mucus in stool

Hey guys, I just took a dump and it had a fairly large amount of mucus streaked through it. Now, I know people are going to say, "Go see a doctor". The thing is, I am currently working in rural China and I don't trust the "doctors" here at all. I'm finished with work in a few days and will then go to a bigger city where I can see a medical professional. I haven't had any symptoms recently other than pooping the mucus. I was wondering if I should be worried or if I should just finish my work and get it checked when I'm in the city.

Also, the nearest real hospital is five hours away by train, so if this is a problem and it takes a sudden turn for the worse, well, it's probably going to kill me.

  • Mucous in stool is usually not serious. It could be something fatty that you ate, or it could be your gallbladder irritatated (by fatty food usually). Try to think about what you ate before the problem, and if it was something different or fried, that is probably the culprit. Good luck!
