I am 23 years old and have been getting a mucus cough now for a few months. I also get wheezing and feel like i gotta cough something up, like getting over a cold. It dosnt happen everyday but it is really annoying and makes me feel bad. I dont have any other symptoms like runny nose or sore throat and dont really have allergies. It seems like it is worse when i sit down or lay down and if i eat or drink. It usually lasts about an hour and i can feel it starting and ending. If anyone knows or has had this please let me know what it is. Thanks

  • well, if theres no fever, then most likely its irritative cough, and mucus production blocks the small airway causing the wheezing, thus soothe your self . try taking mucolytics, they help.

  • I have simular symptoms, but also associated with fatigue and found to be allergies. The reason worse when lying down is nasal drip that didn't feel like a nasal drip, but....when I took Claritan, it cleared up. Go figure. Never had allergies my whole life and almost 50!
