I will be as brief as possible; here are my symptoms
-MRI shows non-specific white matter hyperintensities
-4th nerve eye palsy
-negative spinal tap 3 yrs ago
-negative evoked potentials 3 years ago
-recent EMG negative
-now developed right foot weakness; impending foot drop
-sometimes bite tongue when talking
-sometimes trip on level ground
-urinary symptoms; worked up couple yrs ago; all negative
now have urgency; no infection; prostate fine
-often mildly off balance; bump into walls
-fell once when trying to run
-memory not so good; always have to think to remember date

I have been to 3 neurologists without an answer. Not enough to meet criteria for MS. But then what is it?
I am quite sure it is MS but more manifestations, like a foot drop are coming. My theory is that high dose Lipitor (shown to have immunomodulating effects) has suppressed OCBs in the spinal fluid and the development of typical MRI lesions. There was a study showing the latter.

I am a physician myself. I need an answer!!! Not knowing is killing me. How do I live the rest of my life?

Thanks

  • Definitely not! I'm not a physician, but a kinesiologist (PKP), and have had 2 clients with MS, who are both now symptom free. All of the symptoms you describe, including blurred vision, clumsiness, memory..are typical for candida overgrowth. The yeast produces more than 70 toxins, Over time the candida changes from a yeast form, to a fungus, which creates a waste called “mycotoxins”. An acidic by-product of the mycotoxins is acetaldehyde – a poison that is converted by the liver into alcohol. This is why some of the symptoms of candida simulate symptoms associated with intoxication from alcohol, such as “brain fog” and poor co-ordination. A woman I know who is diagnosed with fibromyalgia has very high levels of alcohol in the liver, but doesn't drink. They "cant figure it out" but it sounds like it would be the byproduct of the mycotoxins. I have noticed candida always seems to be a factor in fibromyalgia and "mysterious" illnesses of this nature, which could include MS.. It appears that some kind of toxicity/stress (normally physical, but possibly emotional in extreme cases) causes the acidity needed for candida overgrowth, then people develop their own "diseases" from it depending on their pre-disposition. Both of my MS clients showed the same priority of sensitivity to electromagnetic fields - now that I know more about it, in retrospect I think that was the cause of adrenal stress/high cortisol production, and both had to watch their day to day blood sugar - NOT in relation to diabetes etc., - nothing was ever diagnosed in that direction - but as you know high cortisol production affects blood sugar and other hormone levels. Anything which causes a compromised immune system can cause candida imbalance and it's more rampant than we realise..it depends on your personal lifestyle what could have caused it for you.. common causes are sugary foods and refined foods/white flour, alcohol, chemical exposure (household or office/hospital chemicals), high tech radiation, age (hormone changes make one more vulnerable), moulds, etc. etc. Anything that produces the acidity which candida needs to flourish. what is your environment or lifestyle like - what could be the factors in your case? I wrote an article on this - if you like I can email it to you.. Its easy to get it back into balance within about 1 month.. freehelp99@yahoo.comKaren
