Hi, please help:
mom is a 56 year old black woman in ok-ish health, has a history of high blood pressure and for the last month has been having a cough/cold or something. for the past couple years she's been having dizziness spells which have gotten worse in the past couple weeks. on wednesday of this month, she was driving near the house and began getting disoriented to the point where she almost drove off the rode, she then pulled into the driveway and hit the horn. i came outside and she told me that she couldnt breath. I called 911, now, during this time, she was too weak to move, and she was hyper-ventilating and crying. the medics got there and gave her oxygen and too her to the hospital. when she got there they gave her meds to calm her down and her breathing stabilized, they gave her some antiobiotics and an inhaler for bronchitis, so she goes home and 2 days later today... SAME THING AGAIN!! except this time she said it started with her heart beating awkwardly and then she couldnt breath and started hyper-ventilating, so I called the medics and she went to the hosp. doc said he didnt know what the deal was and sent her home?!?!? if anyone has any info that can help please email me @ karlrichii@hotmail.com or post here thanks and God bless

  • Sounds like it could be heart palpitations and anxiety attacks. Has she been checked for hyperthyroid/Grave's disease?

  • Milk intolerence is very common in Africans and Asians... Heck, more than half of African and Asian adults are intolerent. Of course, the national dairy council spends a lot of money advertising how safe it is to drink milk even when you're intolerent. On the next page, they admit they're trying to increase profits because minorities are unlikely to drink milk like white people do. Yet, I've seen articles linking lactose intolerence specifically to high blood pressure...From the trouble breathing and the dizziness, it could even be a full-blown allergy.Reducing salt can also assist in lowering blood pressure greatly. My father had great success not from medications, but by reducing salt and hydrogenated or trans-fat. Trans-fat is like normal oil that has been treated with high-pressure hydrogen gas. The result is a much thicker fat in quantities the human body is not designed to cope with.

  • Is your mom on med's for her blood pressure? If so which ones? Is she taking any other medications including OTC? Does she drink alcohol? Symptoms can come up even if you have been taking meds for awhile. Sounds like possible toxicity or side effect from meds. DOM
