Okay, so about 3 years ago, I had what I *thought* was just a pimple near my vagina. First, a single small, pimple-like thing appeared between my thigh and the lip of my vagina. Since I shave often, I'm used to razor burn & ingrown hairs. So, I popped it as usual. Only this time, the core was a solid, waxy ball shape, followed by bleeding. Once the blood dried up, it left a small hole, and cleared up completely within a few days. I kept getting these unusual *pimples* over the course of a 4 or 5 months, and only 1 at a time. I was finally diagnosed with Molluscum Contagiosum. They went away on their own, and I have not seen a single one since.
That said, here we are 3 years later, I've been with my current boyfriend for a year now and just yesterday, the same small pimple like thing appeared on his genitals. I was under the impression that once the initial outbreak went away, you weren't contagious. Is it possible that I have been carrying and infecting since then!? I'm so worried, since I would have obviously taken more precaution had my DR. informed me to do so. But since she had a nonchalant approach to it, I was under the impression that it was not contagious anymore.
