I'm a 24yr old male who has a mixture of issues, some related and unrelated ( in my opinion ), which I would like some input on, I avoid doctors, so I would like some online input before I force my self to see a doctor. (even then I'll probably only mention 1-2 things)

I'll start by saying I'm a heavy beer drinker, probably 1 level below an alcoholic (I still get up for work), live on take away and junk food, which I believe could have played an extremely large roll in these symptoms.

I'll start with the **** I've had for years, since I was about 13-14 I've had off and on purple and red hands, however I don't feel the cold nor the heat much, looking it up, it sorta falls into Raynaud. I find my self even now, wearing a t-shirt, its 3.2C degrees outside, 10C inside maybe? Not feeling the cold hardly at all? Then the next day it could be 20C and I'll be wearing a jumper feeling cold as all ***l? This has been something since I was was 13-14. Frequently find my self not wearing a jumper regularly until nearly the end of winter, and then not taking that jumper off until nearly the end of summer.

Now the next one, is my bowel movements, some weeks I will be going to the toilet daily, or multiple times a day, then I go through stages where I will have a bowel movement once every 1-2 weeks. There is odd blood in my stool (become less frequent in the past year), is this the result of piles/hemorrids?

Third on my list comes urinating, in the the past 1-2yrs I find my self having to pee more and more frequently, lately I'm going to the toilet and not even being able to pee more then a drop or two, but still feeling the need to pee, some days I'll be back and forth from the toilet 10-15 times a day, then others its only 1-2.

Then what scares me the most is about 2 days ago when I went to pee, I had blood in my pee, hence why I've decided to think about some overdue medical advice. During one night it happened twice, but has not happened since, but I'm still concerned.

There are more other issues such as my frequent inability to sleep throughout the night, while I can manage with this, in the average night I find myself waking up 5-10 times, strangely enough solving problems I had earlier in the day (I'm a computer programmer), only time this becomes annoying is when I can not get back to sleep at all (e.g. wake at 3am, and cant get back to sleep the rest of the time).

When I write all these down I swear I seem like a hypochondriac, probably why I wont just go to a doctor and go there is a, b, c, d, e..

  • I take no meds, my diet is very unhealthlyI have class 3/7 days a week, which really determines what I eat. When I have class I will often just eat 2 egg and bacon rolls for the day, one for morning tea, another for lunch (no breakfast or dinner). When I dont have class frequently there is a 50/50 chance I will order some pizza (or some other takeaway), and that will be all I eat, then other days I will not eat at all that day.The only part of my diet that is probably more consistent is a few beers in the afternoon

  • i suggest going to the doctor and having a complete work up done, it sounds like you have various things going on that you need treatment advice for. my bowel movements, some weeks I will be going to the toilet daily, or multiple times a day, then I go through stages where I will have a bowel movement once every 1-2 weeks. That sounds like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). There are three different types of IBS, some suffer mostly from diarrhea with it, others have it predominately with constipation... while with others it can be swinging both ways as it seems is happening to you...... here i just found you a link on what i was saying to support it http://www.webmd.com/ibs/types-ibs I advise you (as i have the same kind of IBS as it sounds as you do), to start taking fibre supplements daily or up to a couple of times a day if needed (they are available from the pharmacist or supermarket). This will help your body to regulate and is what a gastro specialist suggest to me. You can take these no matter what way the IBS is swinging. (Be aware that IBS can coexist with other illnesses (be a part of) or by itself!!) Some advise taking probotics for this..so you could try that too. You may also have foods are triggering things too esp when you are finding you are needing to go multiple times...see if you can work out what is irritating your bowels.. hot spicey foods are often not great for IBS. (I find that im sometimes sensitive to something but at other times im ok.. it goes in bouts). There is no test for IBS and it's just diagnosed on symptoms............... urinating, in the the past 1-2yrs I find my self having to pee more and more frequently, lately I'm going to the toilet and not even being able to pee more then a drop or two, but still feeling the need to pee, some days I'll be back and forth from the toilet 10-15 times a day, then others its only 1-2. That symptom certainly needs to be checked out as it could be something serious eg prostate cancer (which also could cause blood in urine) and work out what is causing if its not due to fluid intake variations. It also could be due to a urinary infection (with the blood in pee too). Whatever the cause you need to not delay seeing a doctor over these kinds of symptoms................. my frequent inability to sleep throughout the night, while I can manage with this, in the average night I find myself waking up 5-10 times, strangely enough solving problems I had earlier in the day You could have sleep apnea and not be aware that is what is really waking you up (at which point you start thinking). Sleep apnea is when something stops breathing multiple times during the night.... more common in snorers. If it isnt sleep apnea learning meditation and relaxation techniques (eg learning to switch your mind off) may help. There is odd blood in my stool (become less frequent in the past year), is this the result of piles/hemorrids? Yeah usually that would be most likely due to a hemorrid.. but due to your other symptoms, i wouldnt like to say its just a hemorrid, it could be something else. I think you should mention that to your doctor too (just in case it's tied in with the blood in urine or something).

  • It's probably not something you want to hear, but you do need to seriously consider disease of the liver, prostate, and/or pancreas. Any of these can be extremely serious and life-threatening, usually only worsening the longer they are ignored. Also diabetes is not an unreasonable explanation for a majority of your complaints.
