Migratory chronic joint pain

For the past 3 months I have had extreme joint pain. It started in my left elbow, moved to my right elbow, then right shoulder, then left shoulder, then right wrist. Each time the pain moves from one point to another. It is now is affecting my knees and hips. I also have had a hard time swallowing at times. I have had painful red bumps on the undersides of my forearms. I have also had some painful spots on my scalp with no markings.

I have seen my general physician who ran a bunch of bloodwork. I do have high antibodies and high anti-smith. Both of these are indicative of SLE (Lupus), but I am a male, and I do not have any of the other symptoms. I went to see a Rheumatologist, and he says that I do not have SLE. He seemed to think that it was just an infection and that it would just run its course.

I am very frustrated because the pain has not gone away...at all... it has even become worse at times... I am on predisone which somewhat helps, but I am not interested in taking this long term!

Help please!

Thanks for your time,
