This is a problem tht I have had for about 12 years and have gotten so bad, the feel like they are controling my life. Stress is a big factor, and I know this soulds weird but seems like they happen when I get doen with the stressful event. When I get these sound, light, smell, bright lights, and the sun on the on-set of onhese e I get very sick and at times have to go to the Emergecy room. They also, last for days, my biggest problem is I have tried all sorts of medicine and it doesn't work or doesn't work for long. What can been done to fix this because it is affecting my life in ever way.

What are some suggesting to slow them dowm, it's affecting my life

I have migraines, too, but not nearly so bad. I'm on a drug called Topiramate which has helped a lot. Also, in my case, I've stopped eating trigger foods which have nitrates like processed meats. Another big one was MSG or mono-sodium glutamate which is found in a lot of snack foods. Cheese, chocolate, nuts, and caffeine are other foods that can trigger attacks. Hope this helps and I wish you all the best in your search for relief from these migraines.

  • my sister used to have them too, and it was frightful. try to reduce your stress, it's really important.Try the hot-cold effect. fill your tub with cold water, stay in for about a minute or two, then take a super hot shower. This will make your veins constrict and expand, and in some cases has proven to relieve migraines...other than that, when its the peak of the peak, my sister used injections into her thigh, but i cant remember what it was. Her migraines were to the point where she would bang her head on the wall over and over..... :-( she is great now, she gave birth....that might have taken away the headaches...
