I've been dealing with a psychologist for a few months now and he has been trying various drugs, I'm not quite sure he is correct in his assesment of the situation, my symptoms are as follows. (including severity)

Please help diagnose me, Which issue/diagnosis most closely matches my symptoms? and what drugs/treatments are available to prevent or improve these symptoms.

Thank you ahead of time for your time and help!:)

Male, 29yrs old, fairly healthy, no thyroid or health issues besides Asthma.

-Obsessive compulsive-like issues

-Aggression

-Agitation

-Irrational Anger (being mad for no reason at someone, or some thing.)

-Memory problems (short term, and poor long-term recall issues.)

-Short attention span, ADHD like symptoms

-poor self esteme

-Unstable self-image

-impulsivity

-compulsivity

-anti-social behavior (avoid social situations, if at all possible.)

-Relationship problems/issues/fights, etc...

-Rapid mood changes.. one minute I could be as happy , and then the next I am depressed, or Angry, or have anxiety like issues, mood changes very rapidly.

-Depression

-Anxiety

There are a few other issues, but these are the only ones that really bother me.. I need a proper diagnosis so I can get the treatment needed to improve things.

Current meds and diagnosis...

ADHD, OCD, Major-depression and or Bipolar with rapid cycling..

Wellbutrin 450mg For major depression (works, but barely. Still depressed sometimes.)

Strattera 100mg for ADHD (has helped tremendously)

Buspar 30mg for anxiety (barely works, almost like taking nothing.)

  • Well it sounds like a diagnosis that would be similar to what you are experancing. However, be careful with med flip flopping. Doctors have done this with me in past and boy I have crashed several times. How does the Meds work for u at the moment? I was told wellbutrin is good for more energy and concentration but lets just say for me my symptoms got worse. So keep a diary of your sypmtoms and meds and make sure that they do good physical examinations of u Blood work ect. Sometimes there are underlying problems that contribute. Have u dealt with this your whole life? Is there any recent changes in your life? I found out a lot of mine could be because of my neurological condition, which they are diagnosing as MS right now. So this has really impacted my life tremondously. Sry for any spelling errors. Take care and good luck.

Doctors have done this with me in past and boy I have crashed several times. How does the Meds work for u at the moment? I was told wellbutrin is good for more energy and concentration but lets just say for me my symptoms got worse. Maybe, but how long did it take for your symptoms to get worse? This is like 8months to 1yr later and Wellbutrin seems to be pooping out, and i'm going back to my old suicidal self, starting to think thoughts of death and seeing horrible images of bad things happening, and I dont want to return to feeling that way. So keep a diary of your sypmtoms and meds and make sure that they do good physical examinations of u Blood work ect. Sometimes there are underlying problems that contribute. They have eliminated the physical things, checked thyroid, etc... Have u dealt with this your whole life? Is there any recent changes in your life? Yes I have lived with it quietly my whole life, I just got to the point of getting treated at the beginning of this year and now that things are working out better and im not verbally abusing my wife as much, I don't want to return to how I was a year ago... how i've been forever. Yes i've lived with it my whole life... always switching moods, behaviors, changing values, changed religions multiple times, seems that I am happy one day and sad the next, or even within a few minutes or hours! I don't know what to do. I found out a lot of mine could be because of my neurological condition, which they are diagnosing as MS right now. So this has really impacted my life tremondously. Sry for any spelling errors. Take care and good luck. I think maybe I have Bipolar, but how do I ask my doctor if I have that?
