A lymph gland on the right side of my neck has always been noticeable, but I had two impacted lower wisdom teeth, the right one was infected. My right lymph gland about an inch under my ear got much bigger during the time my tooth was infected and causing abscesses. I had all of my wisdom teeth removed in late June. I was prescribed vicodin and ibuprofen for pain, amoxicillin as an antibiotic. I made a big mistake by not taking the entire antibiotic. There were about 12 out of the 40 pills left. After a week's delay, I took the rest of them on schedule .
The swollen gland went way down in size until about 7-10 days ago and it got bigger again. The lymph gland in the same location on the LEFT of my face I can feel, but it isn't nearly as big as the other. For the past 5 days, I have had constant headaches. I went back yesterday to see my oral surgeon to talk to him, and he prescribed me clindamycin for 5 days. He recommended I go see a medical doctor because he doesn't believe it is dental related.
In addition to the headaches, there is a slight pain in my throat when I swallow. It doesn't exactly feel like a sore throat feels when I have a common cold.. just a little slight pain. I have had chills all over my body and sore neck muscles as well. It almost feels like I've been about to get a cold, but it just hasn't come.
Does anyone have any ideas before I go see the MD? Thank you in advance.
