On July of 2013 I noticed a sharp increase in my muscle twitches. I've had muscle twitching since 2011 and it was ruled benign. Following that I had pressure in my feet, chest, upper spine, pinchers in my back muscles, seeing bright colors and my feet tingle. Now I have bad neuropathy in my feet, intense muscle twitching, rib pain/burning and a slowly progressing meningitis. I had had a normal complete metabolic panel (high calcium) , normal emg and ncv, normal kidney and liver function, normal red blood cell counts, negative western blot and elisa, normal stress test, normal ekg and normal echocardiogram. The weird aspect is I had pressure in my chest and then it felt normal and 6 months later I have the pain and there was a year gap between upper neck pain and meningitis. I was bit by tick and after pressure feelings was on doxy for 28 days.

  • Are you taking a medication that can cause muscle twitching, many do? I had pressure on my chest, intermittent, so much so that I could not get comfortable. I had an endoscopy and was told I have chronic gastritis. The problem has resolved to the most part. Are you seeing a specialist who deals with Lyme disease or auto-immune responses? Slow progressing meningitis? That sounds quite serious to me. Make sure you are seeing someone who is proficient in these areas.
