ok so a couple months ago i got some symptoms that include

fatigue
chills
fever
headache
muscle and joint pain

these lasted around 2 months, but i thought i should be checked out. all the docotrs in the area were booked and i get scared easily (when it comes to health problems) so i took my car and went almost 1 thousand 5 hundred miles to america. where the doctors told me to go home because there was nothing wrong. i left my wife and kids at home and i go just for them to tell me to go home. instead i checked myself into a hotel, where i lived for maybe 1 month. i started to think that there really was nothing wrong. the next day i started to pack when i felt VERY tired, i started getting heart palpitations so i went to sit down

while sitting down i could feel my heart beat slow, then speed up VERY quickly. i waited a few hours considering that i may be having a heart attack, and then a couple hours later the heart palpitations stopped. i still felt very tired and a few days later i got these new symptoms:

central and peripheral nervous system disorders
multiple skin rashes
arthritis and arthritic symptoms

then these symptoms popped up again:

Extreme fatigue and general weakness
heart palpitations

then i went to the doctors again, where he said the heart palpitations were most likely caused by stress from the trip here and the fatigue was from the nights i stayed up while driving here, but he had no answer for the other symptoms

these lasted for about 1 year, the whole time living in the same hotel. i thought the fatigue and heart palpitations were from home sickness or stress, so i didnt worry about them

then POOF my symptoms go away again. almost over night. i feel great, and i think its all over. so i started heading home. on my way home i got heart palpitations again, and extreme fatigue, i fell asleep at the wheel and woke up in the hospital that i had visited the first few times.

the doctors were taking my seriously now, but again they came to me with no answers. so i checked myself back into the hotel on conditions that i dont drive and have a phone near by at all times.

months went by and my symptoms increased and got worse. my symptoms AGAIN went away for about 3 months. then EVERY previous symptom i had hit me again, and hard. many new symptoms also appeared.

these are the symptoms that cause me ***l everyday now:

Rashes
Fever, chills, sweats
Fatigue, tiredness
Sore Throat
Upset stomach
Change in bowel function, constipation
Chest pain and rib soreness
Shortness of breath, cough
Heart palpitations, pulse skips, heart block
Joint pain or swelling
Muscle pain and cramps
Constant Headache
Neck creaks and cracks, neck stiffness
Stiffness of the joints and back
Tingling, numbness, burning and a stabbing pain
Dizziness, poor balance
Light-headedness, wooziness, difficulty walking, clumsy bumping into objects
Confusion, difficulty in thinking, difficulty in concentrating, difficulty with sticking with task
Disorientation
Mood swings, irritability, depression
Disturbed sleep: too much, too little, early awakening- goes through cycles sometimes too much
Nasal stuffiness /restriction
Shortness of breath
No desire to do anything- including favorite hobbies
Rapid pulse with slightest exertion
Perfuse sweating- soaking wet
Muscle pains, cramps, charley horse
Pains switching from one side of the body to the other
Stiff aching neck
Changes in vision
Anxiety
Difficulty swallowing
Nausea/vomiting
Changes in taste or smell

so i searched these symptoms on google, and i kept getting the search result "Lyme Disease" so one day i decided to actually read somethnig about it, AND IT WAS SPOT ON like a light went on "this is what i have" i went to the hodpital again and i was told to go home. and that my brain was making up symptoms because they have done all the tests and no blood tests show any sign of lyme or any other disease/infection

please help!

  • If you don't live in an area where their are ticks that carry Lyme disease (UK, I''m guessing?) then it's doubtful you have Lyme disease. Achy joints and many of the other symptoms you have may mean something like Reiter's Syndrome or Behcet's Disease. Ask your doctors to look for HLA-B27 positivity.

  • My doctor said 90% of people get he bull's eye rash but I disagree. Where is this documented? Anyway, you need to find the right doctor which can be tough due to the quacks.

  • i live in canda, and thank you for the suggestions about b27 9sorry i dont remember what it was fully called) i live in canda (did live in canada) in newmarket. i asked the docotr in the hospital if it COULD be lyme and he said yes instantly, then he explained: the birds migrate from other places to canada when it gets warm, and the parasites and ticks get a free ride to pretty much all of canada and various other countries. again i dont know if its lyme... cuz there arel ots of other things that could cuase these symptoms. i will mention all possibilitys to the next doctor i see. any more suggestions are welcome thanks for the replys and thanks in advance for any other replys ALSO i think ive said this but im not sure (and if i have i will edit this out): for a couple of weeks i had circular raised rings on my hands, they got thick and VERY raised at half the circle and then slightly raised and skinny at the other part of the circle. i had atleast 10 - 40 of these on my hands everyday for about...... 3 weeks or so. is that a lyme rash? again thanks for the answers

  • Hey! I know what you going through.... I was 23 in 2004 when I started to have exactly same symptoms as you have listed, since than I have gone to many doctors and all they can tell me I was ok and should go home. Years passed and I lived with it and in a way I started to feel little better. But time to time these symptoms came back and it's like living ***l!!! Just recently I was having stomach problem and went to the Doctor. She told me that she was going to do all tests possible on me and that included Lyme. I never even knew that such a kind of disease existed. So, in September I was diagnosed with Lyme disease I am not sure if all these symptoms that I had for years now are connected to Lyme, but I hope so, because I am getting treatment. When I was diagnosed I told Doctor I was never bitten and it's was false, and she told me I should get treatment just in case. Up until this minute I was convinced that this was false, but after reading your story and doing some research on more symptoms that can cause by Lyme, now I slowly believe maybe I was bitten long time ago and when I had all these symptoms no one even suspected Lyme. Why don’t you get treatment anyway I’m sure you know you can take antibiotics like (Doxycycline) for 3 to 4 weeks. Feel better….. I really know how you feel, because you are the only person that I met that has same symptoms as me, so maybe it’s Lyme and you need really good Doctor to help you. Good Luck!! Feel better!! Let me know what you think.

Let me know what you think. Keep in mind, taking abx for 3-4 will most likely do nothing, unless you were just bitten recently! I have been taking antibiotics for almost 4 months and I am just now starting to see improvement and will most likely take a year or so.

  • Where are you from that you drove to the USA for a diagnosis? Which state are you in?What doctors are you seeing? regular doctors? or only ER doctors? You have to go to the right doctor to get a proper diagnosis. ER doctors are only there to stabalize you in emergency cases (threat of loss of life or limb) until you can see an internist (doctor of internal medicine, or medical doctor) who will refer you to a specialist...most doctors anymore just ask you what's wrong, what prescription do you want? goodbye. It's hard to find a good doctor anymore. Go to the mayo clinic, the cleveland clinic, John Hopkin's hospital, or something along those lines. If you are only going to emergency rooms, and that's where you want to go because you don't have insurance, then try an urgent care center instead. They will be more likely to help.Good luck!
