Ok in Nov 2005 I noticed a lump on my leg..half the size of a golfball...as if someone had cut a golfball in half and slipped it under my skin..about 2" below my knee...slightly to the left of the bone..it had never been discolored and hasn't really bothered me..til the last few weeks i've noticed it felt like i had a band around ym leg where the lumo is..and tonight at work (I make pizza at pizza hut) the lump and my whole lower leg from the lump down started to hurt like the dickens :( ...ive got off work 3 1/2 hrs ago and it still hurts a lot. I have no insurnace yet until my promotion for p.h. kicks in and was waiting for that..but the way my leg hurts tonite...HELP!!! Please :D

  • Just wanted to add that my post reason is...does anyone have a idea of what my lump is? I re-read it and i think I may have worded it to sound like i wanted $$ help to see the dr..thats not it LOL i was asking for imput on what my lump may be. It doesn't hinder my walking (which is why i want to wait to let insurance pay for it). But things like the unbearable pain Friday night that lasted til 3:30am..and the feeling there is a band around my leg there..the lump itself with no discoloration..since friday pain has been off and on but bearable...any ideas folks? help!Lois

  • What does it feel like if you press on it? Is it hard and smooth? Soft? Rough? If it's hard and unmovable, it could very well be a bone tumor and the pain might indicate it's gotten large enough internally to start causing a problem. You should probably have an x-ray and/or CT scan done of the spot to determine what it is and then see about a biopsy. If its soft, it could be a fluid build up and so having a doctor drain it might solve the problem.

  • Thank you for replying. It is soft and a little tender to the touch hopefully it is just fluid as you suggested it might be. Thanks. If it is fluid would it have caused excruiating pain like it did friday night?Lois
