I NEED TO EDIT THE TOPIC....THE PAIN IS ON THE RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT SIDE!!!!!

This horrible pan began about 3 yrs. ago...it happend once & went away for about 10 months....came back for another day & went away up until August. It has been chronic since then and only varies in pain levels. I've had 2 C.T. scans, 4 ultrasounds, a colonoscopy, a small bowel follow through and an x-ray of my right hip. The G.I. doctor can't find anything wrong. My Gynocologist said it is NOTHING GYNOCOLOGICAL. My primary doctor is all out of ideas! My pain level fluctuates on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being excruciating) from a 2 (never lower than a 2) to about an 8. The majority of the time the pain is between 3-4-5-6. My primary doctor doesn't want to keep giving me percoset anymore either!!!! HUH? (Ultram doesn't work either) She only tells me that if the pain gets worse to go to the E.R.....where they're going to do tests to see if my appendix is about to explode, rule out life threatening problems & tell me to go home & rest! (Not to mention that the co-pay is a whopping $75 for the E.R. & I'm a single, self-provider....it's hard being a single woman) So basically the E.R. just a place for me to waste a day for useless testing that answers nothing.

I NEED HELP!!!! WHAT ELSE CAN I SUGGEST TO MY DOCTOR?

  • I'm sorry I have nothing to suggest to you but I am in almost the EXACT same situation. Everything you describe matches my problem except my pain is always on the right side. Everything else is exactly the same. I am also 21 years old - female. Have you found any answers yet????Kristen

  • first off i wanted to apologize for being a *****d & posting LEFT SIDE because it is my right side. right now i'm being treated for ENDOMETRIOSIS. I just got the 3 month depro-provera shot this past thursday. my NEW gynecologist seems to think that we should try this aproach before laproscopic surgery. My symptoms are not clinical (google endometriosis to see what all the symptoms are) Unfortunatley for you, you're very young and maybe too you for endometriosis, which normally effects people a little older than me (36, 37 next month UGH! ) but then again my symptoms are not clinical. My regular doctor explained that there's only intestines, (appendix include) and your ovaries & fallopian tubes). Are you seeing a gynecologist? Have you gotten a second opinion? This gynecologist I'm seeing now is very open minded. My former gynecologist was very dismissive & insisted that because my symptoms weren't EXACT to what is usual that my problem wasn't gynecological!!!!! What a ***k!!!! so my primary doctor suggested i try a new gynecologist to get a second opinion if nothing else. I really liked & respected my first gynecologist but obviously a new set of eyes can be helpful. I'm not saying this gynecologist has me cured but I really liked that when I saw him, he said he'd try different things to see what could be done to help me. So for now, I'm being patient. Since I got my shot I've had some weird feelings going on in the spot that is killing me. But I haven't really had the severe pain, but typically it gets severe for a few days & then goes away for a few days....etc. What have you done so far (tests) to see what's going on with you? I've had several CT scans, several sonograms, a colonoscopy, a small bowel follow through (you drink barium & they x-ray you every 10 minutes & follow the barium through your intestines) hip x-ray, pap smear & several pelvic exams..... I've had it all. So intestinal / digestive was totally ruled out....which only leaves the ovaries & fallopian tube. This is why I changed doctors...there is no test other than laproscopic or a laporotomy (fancy word for exploritory surgery) to see what's going on inside where sonogram can't totally tell, neither which the first gynecologist was willing to do. You can e-mail me direct if you'd like. FURRETZ@aol.comGood luck to you dear. If you don't get any results, you have to keep trying. Don't be scared to get a second or third opinion if that's what it takes to get an answer. Your insurance company can help you with suggestions too.

  • I have the same problem. Once it starts, it does not stop until the next morning. I seem to get the pain every night. I can not sleep at times because the pain is a horrible throbbing pain. I am 20 with a 18month old daughter and I do not have insurance. My boyfriend works his butt off to help me out but I can not afford to go to the doctor unless something tremendous happens. I can tolerate pain very well so I'm sure the pain I have is pretty bad.I NEED TO EDIT THE TOPIC....THE PAIN IS ON THE RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT SIDE!!!!!
