low vitamin D

Hi recently i had blood test the result was i had low vitamin d what should i do.:(

  • I would get in the sun as much as possible but with all the scare with skin cancer and sun screen some bodies dont absorb it as they should. Milk has Vitamin D in it and what I did was go pickup Vitamin D supplements. Good Luck hon As EvEr Cat

  • sorry to keep troubleing u but i noticed when ever i eat anything i get this like pimple it swells like bollon it size is very small like small pea in my mouth just before my tonsil rt side then after 1 hr it goes down then when i start to eat it comes up again it not pain full but i feel i what to earch.

  • i assume you just need more sun (if you D2 levels are down). Expose as much as your body as you can to it for short times.. in Australia where I live (where it's very sunny).. it is recommended to expose the body for 15 mins daily.. before putting any sunscreen on (depending on where you live.. you may need more exposure than that). Sunscreens stop D absorption........................ If you've got a rarer issue going on, eg D2 levels are fine but your D3 levels are low, it indicates another issue. D2 comes from sun but then our bodies need to convert the D2 into D3 the active form of it, to be used. This indicates an issue with body conversion of D.. or that ones body is using the active D...faster than it can convert the D2 (eg in some immune response processes to things like bacteria etc).
