Just wondering can anyone give me any ideas???

7 month old baby girl with slightly low tone but strong in other ways. Not sitting up yet but rolling over very well. Slightly low set ears. Severe Stridor. Flexible joints. Alert and good humoured, seems very intelligent. Loves toys & grabs everything.:D

Main chromosomes came back normal. Having head scan in a few weeks. Followed by a visit to nureology Consultant. Can keep head level with body when pulled to sitting but tends to ache her back a lot.

Any doctors out there with any ideas???

Mother had 2 cousins with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

  • I am not sure exactly what you mean by "low tone"....I don't know if this applies or not but my daughter was a slow starter....very alert and all that but was not a fast mover...took her time to walk, she past the "cut off "time for when kids are all supposed to be walking and so forth....seems it is her personality to just be very cautious....also she did later have some issues with orthostatic intollerance, and possible endocrine issues (thyroid, perhaps) .....has your daughter had blood work? What has been done? By the way, my ears are "low"....I seem to be ok ;)

  • Thanks a million for your reply Joan and am actully delighted to hear your comments about your ears:D since she was born I'm always looking at peoples ears!!!!! they are only slightly low. She has the symptoms of so many different chromosome syndromes yet nearly all of these show some retardation which she def does not show. Low tone is also called hyptotonia and means floppy, she is slightly floppy. I have an older daughter and she didnt walk till she was 19 mths but she was not floppy.
