im a 24 yr old male.
about a year ago i started to notice a change in my skin complection. It started with small white dots on the palms of my hands that come and go, then i started to notice my face losing alot of its color, then the tops of my hands lost theyre color. the tops of my hands have faint white spots on them, ive also found faint white spots on my arms and shoulders. I went to see a doctor and he tested my blood 3 or 4 different times, only to find that i had a low platelet count, but could never determine why. I also saw a dermatologist and he concluded in about 3 minutes with no testing that i was suffering from bier spots, i looked up the bier spots on the internet and im convinced this is not the case.

does anyone have any suggestions for why im losing my complection ? or perhaps a suggested test i should take to determine why my platelet count is low ?

  • What exactly is your platelet count? Are the areas like white spots? If so,it could be vitilgo.

  • Steve, What did the doc gave you for bier spots? I had bier spots for years... just found out recently what it is. I remember started out in my palms only.... now its all over my hands, arms thighs.. There is one way to see if they are bier spots is to extend your arms up for a minute or 2. if they go away then they are most likely bier spots. also try rubbing and putting pressure on the spots... they should go disappear for a brief moment. I've still trying to find cure but from what i've read.. does not look good. Edmond
