In the beginning of October I got something I'd usually call the "virus" - fever, slight cough, no runny nose, maybe some vomiting, etc. That is what I usually get and within no more than 4-5 days it's gone. But for some reason I've had this low grade fever (37-38 degrees Celsius) since the start of October. My blood test results are normal, they suggest no infection or disease in any way. My physical exam was normal - no swollen glands or organs, etc. I don't even have a sore throat. The tests we've done have ALL come back negative - they tested for everything from H1N1 to HIV/AIDS to TB.
However, this 'illness' if i may, comes in cycles, unpredictable ones too. I'd get better, then I'd get sick, then better, then sick and so on. I have fever, weakness and an annoying dry cough. Every now and then I'd have vomiting sessions. I've had diarrhea once for a couple days but that was in the middle of October.
As far as meds go, they've given me panadol for the fever.. and I've been advised to use Ensure along with soup since I can't really hold down solids during the 'illness cycle'. However I've managed to scarf down a portion of french fries and only throw up quarter of it. But the doctors weren't pleased that I ate something solid...
I'm really frustrated because I'm a really independent young woman who NEEDS to get better NOW. This sickness is driving me mad and my work is suffering - and no I'm not stressing about that, it's the least of my problems right now.
Can ANYONE shed some light on this since a grand total of twelve doctors including a diagnostic specialist can't?
Anyway, some idiot left macaroni pie in the fridge... and that soup's going right through my system like it never existed. So I'm gonna go scarf and barf :cool:
