I'm 34 and since August I've been having bouts of fatigue accompanied by low fever (99.5-100), mild chest pain, feeling of weakness in one leg. I have swollen lymph nodes in neck & groin as well. An echo was done for the chest pain and everything looked fine. Now my stomach muscles on my rib cage feel tight constantly and have cramped on me a couple times. I've also lost some weight despite eating a lot and my blood sugar runs low (59-70).

Nine years ago I was diagnosed at Mayo with Spinal Myoclonus with possible autoimmune etiology. Had numerous other symptoms back then including fatigue and the weak leg feeling. Had several years of feeling better but did have to quit working full time. The myoclonus is gone for now but does show up every once in a while; sometimes just my leg or hand will twitch when I go to bed at night.

Right now I seem to have a week or so of feeling good alternating with bad days/weeks. I have no idea why my temperature is a little high at times. I've been monitoring it and my normal temp is 97.9 - 98.0 (that's what it is on my good days.) The last 1 1/2 weeks my temp was elevated for 6 days (peaked at 100) and then ran 97.9 for 3 days. Today it was back up to 99.5 and I've felt terrible all day. I felt great on the days it was lower.

My blood tests have come back normal including an ANA for lupus. Had cat scans done to check for lymphoma and those were normal. I'm not excited about having a bunch of testing done and finding out nothing, and I have no idea what to do about this or who to see. It's horribly frustrating as some of you know.

If anyone has any input it would be very much appreciated.

  • Get the western blot test for Lyme, its the more accurate test. Lyme dosen't always show up in the blood, part of dx is clinical . Do a search on it. It sounds like it to me. Mayo or not, they aren't always right. You know how you feel. Best wishes,

  • I had similar symptoms to you for 4 years they got worse, finally I was tested for ameobas (microscopic parasites). blastocystis Hominis treated with flagyl and felt like a new person.
