I am a 46 year old female. For most of my life I have been very healthy. However, in the past two years I seem to be developing one problem after another.

The last one are symptoms for rheumatoid arthritis that develop in the last 2 weeks, but I have become quite suspicious of lupus. I have a referral for a rheumatologist to do further tests, but so far this is the story:

SYMPTOMS EXPERIENCED IN THE LAST 2 YEARS:

H Pylori bacterium (2 years ago)
Migraines and tension headaches (over the past 10 years)
Protein in the urine (several times in the last 2 years)
Hematuria in the urine (several times in the last 2 years)
White blood cells in urine (several times in the last 2 years)
Investigated for bladder infections, kidney tuberculosis, etc – all negative
Pleurisy (1 year ago)
Misdiagnosed with syphilis 20 years ago (false positive?) - 2nd test came negative.
Ear infections (Otitis Media – several times in last 2 years)
Body rash on back and neck (changed from red to brown and remains after 1 year). No butterfly rash.
Allergic to sulphur based medications and Bactrim
Developed lactose intolerance 8 months ago and sensitivity to yeast based foods – gradually disappeared but are returning again
Muscular pain (last 6 months on and off)
Depression (prescribed antidepressants 1 year ago and received psychotherapy)
Thrush / Candidiasis (three times in last 2 years)
Severe joint pain (last 2 weeks)
Swelling of hands and feet (last 2 weeks)
Rheumatoid Factor 21 IU/ml (0-14) - (1 week ago)
C-Reactive Protein 5.2 mg/l (0.0-0.5) - (1 week ago)
Antinuclear Ab (ANA) – Detected, Titre 320, Homogeneous - (1 week ago)So far I haven' got a diagnosis. Based on your own experiences what do you think?

Blaze suggests Lyme as the cause of everyones symptoms on this board. and microwave/emr sickness im convinced she has Munchausen syndrome (search it on google, what blaze does like posting that she had more symptoms than the original poster, saying computers hurt her even tho shes on her comp 24/7 it is classic Munchausen syndrome)

  • Sounds like classic Lupus! You have not been diagnosed? okay you have been checked for HIV correct? and you have been checked I believe for insulin resistance? it does sound like lupus to be honest. I would request a MS panel from a lumbar puncture,,, yes the spinal tap. If you receive a positive MS panel it can show LES or a form of lupus.

  • Basically several posters (including you) have turned this forum into a complete joke in an attempt to discredit me. What's confusing about that? haha, ok lets set things straight; i cannot help but "joke" about the things you say. you go into threads and act like you have it so much worse than the first poster. THEN you say lyme and EMR BLAZE NOT EVERYBODY ON THE PLANET HAS EMR AND LYME!!!!!!!!! ENOUGH!!!!! thats what everybody is thinking! because its true! you need to admit that you are wrong about everybody having EMR sickness and lyme. ok? i find it hard to believe that every illness on the planet is induced by EMR and lyme. think about what you are doing. ok now on the next thing. no matter what people say, you dont listen, you dont. then you ACT like you read what they said and you counter with something like "well then put this person down after reading this" ok this is the internet, half the links you put about bacteria reproducing in response to EMR waves... well for all you know that was writen by a sick mental person who gets kicks out of watching people read his page then actually wasting time trying to self diagnose themselves with lyme and EMR (which you have so bluntly done) when really.... you could have an illness that will kill you at any moment. also this is called false hope, you think you know whats wrong. but you dont. this is pointless because again you never REALLY read what i or anybody els says

  • This was my very first post on this forum, or any medical one for that matter, and I was hoping to deal with educated and helpful people willing to share their advice. It is sad to see that people are more concerned about projecting their negativity and anger and use the forum as a battleground to exchange personal offenses. :(:mad:Asa they say: IF YOU HAVE NOTHING POSITIVE TO SAY - SAY NOTHING!!For those out there that may have some helpful answers, all my thanks. :)A few points:- I have been tested for HIV and that's not an option;- I don't have syphilis;- I am a fairly positive person;- I am not an hypochondriac; - I have good self esteem and sense of self worth and I am not asking to be pitied;- Right now I am having lots of joint pain and need no further crap - only genuine advice, particularly about lupus;- I only developed the arthritic symptoms and got related tests in the last two weeks. I am still waiting for an appointment with the rheumatologist - reason why I haven't got a formal advice.- Finally, I tried this forum because I would like to prepare myself psychologically if it looks like my symptoms fit in with a chronic auto immune illness.THANKS AGAIN TO ALL GENUINE HELPERS OUT THERE! :p

  • When you say "I don't have syphilis" does this mean you've been tested recently? what happened 20 years ago, that you were tested for this? symptoms that is.

  • In relation to syphilis - About 20 years ago - amidst all the hype and all the talk about AIDS, I decided to get tested, because I was concerned about an ex-boyfriend's lifestyle. The results came back negative, but they told me then I had syphilis and did more tests (I was living in England at the time). Never had any symptoms. When I finally got the results they told me there had been a mistake at the clinic and both tests were negative. No apologies - Just 2 weeks of me being scare to death in a foreign country waiting for the new results. _________________________________________As for gilesw, I don't know what type of physician he/she may be (if any), but he/she obviously forgot his/hers medical "bedside manners" - a must for any good physician. :cool:My diagnostic as a trained mental health professional is that you lack empathy (a possible symptom of Aspergers Syndrome or Narcissistic personality disorder, amongst others?) or possibly just pure insensitivity!! But I am not arrogant enough to try to make a psychological diagnosis based on such little information about someone...__________________________________________For those interested, and particularly those treating this forum as a joke or a forum to vent their immaturity and anger issues, in the process of having been treated for depression (due to life factors, as opposed to endogenous / biological factors) I have been clearly told by mental health professionals that I do not have any signs of pathology. HAVE YOU???... :rolleyes:___________________________As requested before, IF YOU HAVE NOTHING POSITIVE TO SAY, SAY NOTHING!As for me, if all this forum is about is childish comments, I will be happy to sign off and leave you up to it. Enjoy! I'd rather concentrate my energy in intelligent and productive dialogs. ;)

  • This is my first post and I just couldn't ignore your post..I have lupus and your symptoms are very much like lupus. what is frustrating is it comes and goes and changes all the time..one time I go in and I have a positive ANA another time I don't. It has taken 20 years of up and downs to finally get a conclusive diagnosis. And that is only because my body was just finall horrible..I went in and Doc couldn't ignore my symptoms anymore. I hope you get the help you need and please realise that you aren't losing your mind..Also there is Lupus sites and they are great for understanding your day..Take careTishmist
