I have had this problem for years now, about 8 or so years ago is when i noticed it, and i just never thought anything of it. Whats wrong is that i have little overall feeling in my arms, but i do have some feeling. In temperatures high and low i have feel very little difference in temperature. Same with pain, what i know should hurt doesn't. Ex: A slap, hard enough to redden the skin, i dont feel anything. The only severe pain i feel in my arms is if it breaks the skin. I have little sensitivity to any kind of pressure on my arms, i dont feel an simple kiss on my arms, and getting hit with a paint ball hard enough to leave a welt only feels like a pinch. Im not sure if this has anything to do with it, but from what my parents have told me, i was born with a rarer type of mottled skin, im not exactly sure what the specific deisease was, i think it had something to do with my vein being closer to the surface of the skin than normal. I do have full mobility of my arms. At times i have a weird feeling that as if someone was pressing a needle against my arms, i only feel one "needle" at a time, and it jump all over my arms. Awhile ago i did get a "virus" that affected my nervous system, mainly my legs, i couldn't exert any force, it kept me from walking for a few days.
